The town of Mooresville, North Carolina, considered the fastest-growing suburb in America, has become the epicenter of an environmental and public health debate over the extent of coal ash contamination. WCNC Charlotte’s six-month investigation identified coal ash, which includes a "cocktail of toxic elements," buried underground across North Carolina, including under and near the most vulnerable.
